Default headlining swap gone wrong :-(

Due to some recent damage to my headlining, including damage to the loom. I had to look for a replacment.

My car is a vectra 2.2 elegance.

Donor car is a 2005 GSI

It looked like it had the loom for everything apart from one cable. Which i easily removed from my old lining as it was seperate. (I think its the rain sensor.

Anyway just test fitted the head lining and tried plugging it in just to test it.

As soon as i plugged it in the rear interior light started flashing. And what sounded like a relay clicking from the front passenger side.

Is this because i'm using the wrong loom.

I found some details on my old lining.

    Headliner : 8036
    Harness 1: BBE
    Harness 2: 0049 1JP

    Rt Hand Sunshades 1550 Elec
    Lt Hand Sunshades 1549 Elec
    Rain Sensor CE1
    Microphone Opt: Fleece Tape Back

There is no possible way i can put the old loom back in due to some damage taking it out

Will i need to go vauxhall and buy a new loom?

dont think thats the cause of it, at the front left hand side is the Body Control Module, nothing to do with the rear except via canbus comm's. You have definitely plugged it into the correct socket, and you havent got one of the connectors on the interior lights round the wrong way have you?

edit: just checked the 'interior mirror' harness numbers and there is only one. Its the other roof loom which has different versions.

Silly thing is i had not connected anything yet. The only thing connected to the loom is the rear interior light.

Oh i also have no headlights at the moment. but surely this cant cause the problem

rear interior light plugged in the correct way, not upside down or nothing? if round the wrong way may cause that problem?

just looked again one connection does go to body control module so double check that plug on the rear light...
