    Default More Power Required!!!

How can I get more boot out of my 1.8 petrol Sri? TBH it is not that much more powerful than my 1.8 LS I had before! It looks very nice indeed but needs to back up the awesome looks with a bit pace!

im 99% sure that the sri will have the same power as the LS.... the specs have nothing to do with the engine... i think...

unless its a vvti engine in the new one then he would have the extra 20hp or whatever the figures are over the ls!

its a VVTi engine in the new one and it is quicker but not that much. From a standind start it will rape the LS but through the higher engine range its about par.

1.8 sri should have a closer ratio gear box - stiffer suspension and sport's seat's over the LS other than the obvious body differences......

as for more power the cheap way to go would be air box mod & high flow air filter so it is getting more air in and a larger bore sport's exhaust so it get's rid of the bad stuff quicker...cam's apgrade and a remap and this should give you about 30% more bhp over the average..

the more expensive way is to have a turbo and all new internals fitted...mega money and good gains but if you dont get stronger internal's then they will go pop with the addition of the turbo.....

Cheers mate, I did the airbox mod on my LS but it sent the emmissions through the roof and subsequently failed the MOT!, Vx said the restrictor in the air box is there for a reason and should not be removed and this was the reason my car failed the emmission part of the MOT due to overfuelling (more air in, more fuel pumped in by ECU and higher CO output)

Me neither? i done mine a week before my MOT and flew through...think their could have been another issue other than that...

The airbox mod is a MUST IMO...my ls was dead on take off...also the shorter gsi/vxr intake pipe

There was nothing else it could have been, both O2 sensors were checked and the CAT got a once over, as well as the EGR valve, then I put the restrictor back in and it passed!!! I would love it to be something else as the airbox mod gave a bit more kick but I am reluctant to do it again on the SRi.
