    Default No more driving licence

I passed my CPC and BUS/COACH test beginning of February this year, I let the examiner send my details to the DSA as its much quicker than if I send them myself

I still havent had them yet

I phoned the DVLA on Tuesday morning, who stated they have NEVER received my details from the DSA

I phoned the DSA 10 minutes later who said they 100% sent the DVLA my details as soon as they got them themselves, as the company I trained with have a fast track licence department

The DSA are now having an enquiry as to why my details have gone missing

In the mean time, the DVLA have told me I will have to apply for a new licence and pay the fees, which also will need a new photograph

Although I have my own passport photograph machine, so the photo isnt a big deal, I dont see why I should have to fork out cos the retards at DVLA have lost my documents

They also tried to fob me off saying that there is a massive backlog, which might be true, BUT, if so, how come everyone who has done their test after me (upto 3 weeks in some cases) have had both, Licence and CPC card??

I sent the DVLA a very snotty email about my details and how they handle security of personal information

    guess what there reply was.......................

Please use our automated service to book your test, if we can be of further help, please phone us

    what a bunch of ******s

I'm supposed to be out on service driving buses from Monday, although I have my pass certificate to proof I have passed my test, if I get caught up in an accident, I will need to show my licence to the police, so the company is seriously considering suspending my driving untill the documents turn up, and I WONT get paid

as long as you have a pass certificate you will be fine with the police mate. You can take up to two years before you apply for the license, unless something has changed?

Yeah but its company policy too

plus, if I get stopped in my car or bike, or even the bus, If I do get a HORT1 then I wont be able to produce my licence

I've got a good mind to take on of the buses and drive it into the DVLA's offices, but I dont they would find the bus either

Company policy is company policy but I wouldn't worry about the police if you have a pass certificate, believe me I am one, if you produce whatever license you already have and a pass certificate that will be fine. We hand out few HORT1 now as it can ALL be checked over the radio.

You've obviously never met the West Midlands police

I cant get over the cheek of the DVLA saying that I should pay for the new licence

I should have told them I'll pay for that, when they pay my road tax

So what exactly happened with ur license..

Did u give it to ur company to send on or did u send it on urself.

Did your workplace pay for the lessons, test and license fees.

Did your workplace pay you for posting ur license?

The company trained me up from scratch, I did my CPC on the Monday which I aced, and my driving test on the wednesday which I aced too (2 minors)

I had the choice to send it off to the DVLA myself, or let the examiner do it, I watched the examiner shred my licence, and log into his PC to forward the pass onto the DSA.

The DSA have definately had my licence, and swear blind they sent the relevent details to the DVLA, who swear blind that the DSA didn't. The DVLA are saying the only time they have seen my licence was early January when they put the provisional Bus/Coach entitlement on my licence, which did only take 10 days.

Only money I've had to spend so far, is fuel to get to and from work.

The DSA have been great, but the DVLA have been a waste of time, I wouldnt be surprised if some immigrant is driving around in his Nissan Bluebird with my name on his licence now

If work suggest u are suspended from driving and lose pay... i would norm say see ur union as its not ur fault as the examiner sent it off ... (who im thinking is part of the bus company)

But seeing as ur union seem more intouch with your Employers needs than urs. I would suggest that if they try this approach u let them know that they are partialy responsible for losing ur license and you are thinking about getting legal advice about it all
