Question Standard springs & Bilstein B4 dampers

    Hi all,

I'm asking this question on behalf of my folks - they've got a 53 plate 2.2 Veccy Elite (hatch) and I'll be doing some suspension work on it for them. Going to be doing the rear ARB bushes and probably the rear top arms too, also considering changing the dampers for some Bilstein B4s.

I'm looking for a bit of advice - it might sound silly but is there anywhere apart from the dealers to get standard springs? Been thinking up a plan of work for their car and I've basically decided that if the rear dampers are going to be replaced I might as well do all 4. I'm sure my folks don't need to have their car lowered so I was going to replace the shocks with new VX ones.

    I'd replace:

    Rear upper arms
Rear ARB bushes - I'm assuming the ARB also has links to the arms? If so then they'll be getting changed too.
    Rear dampers & springs
    Front dampers & springs
    Front strut top bearings

The front ARB links were changed end of last year so I'm not too fussed about those.

Looking on LMF's website 4 Bilsteins are £200 delivered which is fine with me. And yes, I know a full kit wouldn't be a whole lot more! But seeing as it ain't my car it needs to stay with a stock setup.

Any pointers will be gladly received

Thanks for that Simon but I'm not looking to lower the car, so would be after stock springs. The Bilsteins sound like they'll be perfect for it, just wanting to refresh the suspension on it to keep it working spot on for the folks
