I am on day 6 on the champix tabs and due to stop smoking over the weekend. Who needs a pretend fag? Go to the nurse, get the tabs, smoke for a bit and stop! From what I have read, they work really well and i'm looking forward to them kicking in.

Best of luck to you mate, I know how really difficult a decision it is, you are going in the right direction too!

I used the patches and the inhalator (similar to the things in your link I think) and have been off them for just over 3 years now. Used to be on up to 60 a day, still miss it occasionally and regularly dream that I'm still a smoker but can't realistically ever see me going back to it.

Good luck and whatever course of treatment you pick I would suggest following it to the end. Eg. Full 3 months of patches, don't stop after 1.5 months thinking its ok.

No advice for you I'm afraid, but well done for at least considering it.

Everyone I know who has quit says it the best thing they've ever done!

    Best of luck!

3yrs 64 days and about 6 and a half hours, took me 3 attempts with the patches and regular "counseling" sessions and help from friends and family. Stick with it mate, not a day goes by that I am glad I managed to stop.

Think of the money you can save and spend n your veccy

Good on you for trying to kick the habit.
If it will help, I can tell you about watching my Mum die of lung cancer after smoking for most of her life.

My dad tried the electronic cigs, he thought they were good, although he started again! Got rid of his cravings though!

I tried the champix, were very very good, although i started again after a few months! That was my own fault though, i was well out of the woods and let myself start again

    I went cold turkey...been 6+ years now.

Everyday stick the money you spent on fags in a piggy bank. Have something in mind that you want to buy. For me it was a family holiday to Florida.
