Go visit your DVLA local office
Been there and done that in the past. The Birmingham one used to be an abolsute waste of time, but apprentyl the new one is much better!???!
Knew it was meant to be better. I tend to do it all via post, dont get the time to go down, its all the way in Garretts Green isnt it? I sent my plates transfer off in the post to Birmingham, when I got them back it was actually done at the Wales office, yet I had them back within 4 working days. Impressed!
the only differnce is the old DVLA office was five minutes walk from my office, so I'd go in and get a ticket, then go back to my office for an hour and walk back, then have less of a wait
its a 25 minute drive to the new one and it was heaving
and you can b*gg*r off as well

I went to the one in Chester once - in the stupid belief I could complete a 2 minute job during my lunch hour. I had to take an hours lieu time as it took the stated 2 hours. Perhaps its a requirement...
DVLA office rule 13B. If the waiting time in the office drops below 2 hours all staff must SLOW DOWN. Management may consider closing one of the two open counters until the waiting time hits the approved period.
