XP1 snowflakes are standard. Should be no need to declare them.

    XP2 they are an upgrade.

Not all come with alloys as standard though. Having said that it cost me nothing to add them to my 2006 Exclusiv which came with 16" steel wheels.

Two things to bare in mind when dealing with insurance and the question of disclosure. The first is "did the equipment cost extra or is it in the basic price?". If you paid extra, then you need to declare it, regardless or whether it was fitted by yourself, the dealer at PDI or the factory at build. I know nothing of XP specs, so I'll let you figure the answer to that question. The second point is that insurance doesn't use the legal principle of "good faith" - i.e. if they don't ask a question, you don't have to answer it, but if they do ask, you do have to be truthful. Instead insurance operates on the legal principle of "utmost good faith", i.e. regardless of whether they ask, if you're aware that a piece of information may be relevant then you have to state it.

If it turns out your wheels aren't standard on the basic XP1 model and were extra-cost items, and they get stolen, the insurer will only be looking to replace them with the smaller, standard ones. At which point you'd say "I want the same size I had before" and they'd reply "Whoa - no one mentioned a modification....".
