strange noise

I had the exact same problem on my 850T5-R and it turned out to be a nackered gearbox(bearings).

UPDATE

I took it to Vauxhall today and they said that there was definately an internal problem with the gearbox and it needs to be replaced!!! I got this in writting so i could take it to the garage that i got the car from. They didn't seem to happy when i gave them the news but as i have warranty with them i guess they will be looking for a new or most probably reconditioned box.

Vauxhall (Sycamores in Stamford) were really helpfull and even did the handbrake recall mod while it was in....BIG THANKS

The garage even offered to swap my car if i "didn't like it" .....lol
I bet they would have tried to sell it on again with the fault. I told them i really like the car and want it fixing he he he

It's been in the garage today for "another look at it". They confirmed that there is a fault with the gearbox (Grrrrr...i know, thats why i took it in!!!!) and they are looking at stripping and replacing all bearings in the box. They are struggling to find a recon gearbox for my model!!!

took car in yesterday for gearbox replacement (at last) should be getting a call later to pick it up. they're also replacing the engine mounts.....finally getting somewhere!!!

Picked my 2.2 up last night complete with replacment g/box. Seems to be working well, with no strange noises. Thank you Brake and clutch center (Peterborough). Now to give it a good clean before going to the pub!!!!
