    Default Remap. How can you tell?

    How can I tell if my car has been done or not?

    Is there a way?

    Take it to a rollin road Bud, or get a shot of the same kind of car and you would be able to tell the difference.

    Thats my problem

    It seems to be much better than the other i test drove but has more miles nearly 2x more??

    Could be a million reasons why mate. As said, get hold of one you know is standard, or do a rolling road...

    Does a tech-2 not recognise a remap? Isn't there a fault code or memory location in the ECU which would tell you?
    (That question goes to a guru, I expect...)

    AFAIK a Tech 2 can't tell if a car has a remap - that involves a much deeper interrogation of the ECU that a Tech 2 can't do

    Hmm. I suppose the remap just adjusts fuel schedule and ignition timing etc. Agree that the Tech 2 probably can't look into these parts of the software. Just a thought.
    Would a remapper be able to tell? (e.g if you took the car to BSR, could they tell by looking do you think? They must have software to interrogate (and change!) the relavant code.
    I suppose in the end it may be quicker to just chuck it on a rolling road and have a look!
