Default There's such a thing as too much snow!

I'm just back from a lovely week in Austria for a spot of the old cross country skiing.
It only snowed twice while we were there -once from Friday to Wednesday, and once from Thursday afternoon 'til Saturday!
We had a total of about 2 metres of snow, and the avalanche warnings were at level 5 -that's the highest!
Skiing was a bit tricky, as it was hard to find the trail sometimes, but we still had a good time.
    A few piccies:
The village centre (a place called Filzmoos):

How to get snow off the roof:

    Me after a 5k trail:

Not quite a Vectra, but still useful:

    The village from above:

    A few more mountains:

As I'm sure you can understand, I'm really happy to be home. (NOT!)

Unfortunately, you have to take a gondola up to the spot I took that one from, 500m above the village, and it stopped before sunset. It's theoretically possible to walk or ski down, but the piste is a red/black run, and the cross country trail is a black level, 7km haul. The footpath is almost vertical and 500m of very deep snow, so I didn't fancy any of them after sunset. Especially as it was -10 at night!
