    Default Windscreen Wipers

Hi, can anyone offer some suggestions?
Over the past couple of weeks, my front windscreen wipers have started to 'judder and hesitate'. The rear wiper works fine.
I've searched through this forum and it all point to a faulty wiper motor.

But, today driving back up the M5 in heavy rain the wipers were stopping for minutes at a time anywhere on the screen.

Now here's where my problem differs to the rest - when the wipers stop working, so do the front washers !

Would this still point towards just a faulty motor?

Anyone have any ideas - Cheers

Ta, I'll have a look tomorrow to see if it's an obvious fix.

I'll report back if I find anything.

Otherwise it's into the dealers under warranty.

My wipers have done the exact same thing this evening. Started to judder and stick, now work only on the fastest setting. Must be all the rain LOL.

Previous articles about this. Had similar myself.
06 SRI Estate. Front wipers started grinding. Took out motor found it full of water & corroded.
Replaced motor which was easy enough, noted they seem to have added a vent? Works fine now.
Have heard of numerous problems on front wiper motors. Wipers stopping at all points of screen or not working at all. Most common suggestion is motor replacement (Approx £85, also suggest looking at wiper relay. (Cheaper option.)

I would say faulty CIM, if the wipers are hesitating (when are doing this Intermittent/Mid Speed/Fast) and the washers are not functioning at the same time - then there is only one thing they have in common I can think of and that is the CIM - which I believe sits in the Steering wheel cowling - I think.

And CIM is about 10 times the cost of the wiper motor! Cheaper to employ an illegal immigrant to lie on the roof moving the wipers with a straightened coat hanger... if you're feeling nice, fit a roof box and rent it out as a student flat.

Further to my own post, car been in dealers this morning and problem was discovered to be failed wiper motor. To be rectified under warranty as soon as they get the part (Friday they think).
Also having new door lock / elec windows control switch fitted in drivers side door as central locking buttons no longer work and tightened up UJ on steering while I was there.
