Exclamation WOW! Just go back from Courtaney's RR

It's a long drive so I went last night and stopped at Cambridge. The only room I could get cost £90, twice the cost of the rolling road!

But any way, I got my little monster on the rollers and ran her three times, without a box, then with a tunit on 9 and finally with a CR2 with the jumper one above centre.

Was very disapointed that the clutch slipped with both boxes on so I don't have max torque figures but with my new airbox mod in place I got some impressive bhp figures!

    how does 211.9bhp @ fly wheel @ 4279rpm sound?
    That's 178.8bhp @ the road wheel!!

So I'm in need of a new clutch big time. Courtaney say the 3.0CDTI and 1.9CDTI have diffrent part numbers for the clutch so I may be able to squeeze one of those in. They are pretty sure that the F40 is rated to 400lbft though because they have an F23 running at 280NM and have had for some time with no problems. Still they said they would check with Vx for me and see about getting me a better clutch so I can put all that torque on the road aswell!

P.S. My fuel economy on is still looking good, infact at 70mph it is now more than the standard car!

That's up 7.1 bhp on WRCs quotes but I have moded the air box since then and was using the tunit to get that.

The CR2 gave more torque but droped off under the tunit at about 3500rpm so it is probably over fueling at top end.

I'm sticking with the CR2 at the mo because the extra torque gives me better mpg. The CR2 got 207.9bhp@4211rpm (176.7bhp at road wheel)

Yeah, But I was expecting more because of the airbox mod. They ran it twice without any boxes on to start with and got bhp results within 0.4bhp of each other, so is was very consistent.

I ran the CR2 last because I though it would give me more bhp than the tunit, feels stronger because of the extra torque. The transmission losses fell from 32.5bhp on the tunit to 30.6bhp on the CR2 as the gearbox warmed up (or melted...). So if I had run her a few times with the tunit I may have got even more out of her.

Who needs a twin turbo hey!

Upto 193.6bhp, nearly there (but I did have to mod the car!) and the torque weighed in at 297.7lbf @ 2617rpm

Well if have been on Courtenays rolling road then I would say your figures are pretty accurate.

jon (Courtenay MD) is very good with his rollers and tries to stay as accurate as possible.

The F40 IS rated to 400lb/ft and not 400Nm, I checked this afternoon with a guy I know at Luton.

    YAY! and Phew!

That means I only need a new clutch to take the strain and I'll be all set.

I'll have to go to the rollers again though to see what she can really do.
