So hypothetical question here after watching road wars

Do you think you could get away from them if involved in a chase,
How many of you have watched it and thought i could do better than half the drivers there

I wouldn't bother, my mate works on our force chopper, it arrives very quickly and goes very fast in a straight line! Park the car and put your hands up is my advice, oh the dogs are retty quick too and they really hurt!

My old bosses BMW got stolen from the office about 9 years ago. It was a german tuned M3. It aparently out ran the chopper up the motorway in the middle of the night and was found dumped in birmingham.

But no, I don't think I could out run them!

I watch those progs occasionally myself, but no, I wouldn't even consider making a run for it, value my life and others around me too much, and lets face it once the eye in sky is airborne you dont really have much chance getting away.

As a ex-motorcyclist of many years, I have often thought they could have used to more advantage the fact it can go where cars would not be able to, though I suppose it depends whether you know the area well, but again once the heli's is up you dont have much chance.

It amazes me that these stupid people even try to get away.

and even more amazing, is the pathetically lenient punishment they receive when caught.

not in my vectra but in my old evo (350+bhp) no problem but if your not out of sight by the time the chopper comes then your in trouble

Even if I was in an Enzo I'd just pull over and hold my hands up. Whatever you've done, you're going to get caught in the end anyway and there's no point getting a few more days of freedom when they're gonna stick a few more years on the sentence!

lol, even with the broken helicopter and poorly dogs I'd say no - and doubt if many people could. Police pursuit drivers are so highly trained that they know how to 'make progress' rather quickly - and I assume we're talking about them being in the usual rapid pursuit cars.

Of course it all depends on how much of a risk the pursued person is prepared to take and put other (innocent) people's lives at risk. I'm sure there have been instances where someone in a powerful enough car, and no chopper available, has not been caught - either by being too quick, but more often than not due to driving so dangerously that the pursuit is called off - but I bet that doesn't happen that often (pursuit called off and nobody caught).

To answer your question directly - nope, I wouldn't fancy my chances against MLC et al no matter what car I was in.
