door handles

hi wanting to take one off the rear door handles off , question is do i have to take the door card of to do it or can i do it on the side of the door by removing the closing catch. hope that makes sense.

thanks for that lump, i saw that thread but did`nt open it.
today right, yes got all off ok the rear was a bit tight was worried that it might snap. drilled the holes for the parking sensors.
must admit the vxr defusser looks a ***** to fit with the xp on.
