car went on rolling road yesterday!

i took my car to my local rolling rd yesterday. I wanted to get it tested as i had an EDS remap on the 20th feb on my 2.0t.

the guy at vauxhall who did the remap for me said it should give me 295ftlb of torque and around 218bhp.

the car is deffinatly faster than standard and pulls like a b100dy train and keeps up with my mates focus ST (225bhp) no problem.

so imagine the look on my face yesterday when the screen popped up and displayed 176.3bhp???????

not a happy bunny! the guy who tested it said the torque is amazingly high at 270ftlb and they have taken turbo boost upto 17psi which i think is about double.
so the car is really quick and just keeps pulling, im still happy with it, im just annoyed that they sold me a remap where i was expecting to hit 210+ bhp and for some strange reason i have gained 3hp.

im thiniking of ringing the vauxhall garage that done the remap and seeing if they can either re do it with a proper BHP increase or a partial refund as im not happy that i dont have a bhp increase.

If its running that boost at high rpm and keeps up with a focus st then I would suspect a dodgy RR result mate.

does sound weird. I was just shocked as it is really really alot faster, just sounds weird that if the boost is up that high and its poducing that much torque i would of expected a hp increase. Yeah and like i said it keeps up with my mates ST and im not jst saying that it really does. its weird!!

thats crap mate. id agree with big sig. i remember me and a group of cars wemt to a rolling road day at AVA at Glasgow airport ans 90% of the cars that ran were all down in power from the last rolling roads they had been too.

I hate that place my old car ran 260 bhp at Dastek at Dalgety Bay and 180bhp at AVA!! How does that work????????

Your power figure sounds like the wheel horse power rather than the expected flywheel horse power! You can loose quite a lot through the drivetrain even in a front wheel drive car!! It does seem a few horse down though! Maybe best get it checked by the place that mapped it!
