OK, well maybe not quite - seeing as as he can't walk yet never mind blade!
I needed to take Cameron out this afternoon to give Mrs D a bit of quiet time this afternoon to get on with some school reports. As it was such a nice day I decided to dig out the rollerblades that I hadn't used for a while and headed off to the seafront/promenade - 3.5 miles in total end to end and all geared up for people blading.
Parked up and set off pushing him in his buggy whilst blading and he absolutely loved it!! I was kinda hoping that he might fall asleep for a nap on the outward leg but nope, he wasn't having any of that - having too much fun! lol He finally fell asleep on the return leg at around 5 miles (of 7 total) and woke up just as we got back to the car.
I'd been a little bit uncertain whether he'd be okay zipping along at blading speeds - nothing lary obviously given that I was pushing him, more a gentle jogging speed - but it was no problem. I'd definitely do it again and it's a great way for me to incorporate a bit of a fitness routine into going out with him at his age (10 months). Don't get a lot of time, for obvious reasons, going out by myself cycling, blading etc. - so this was perfect. Next thing I'm going to add is one of those bike trailers so that I can head out cycling with him in tow (literally) as we have a cycle trail here (none of it on roads) that goes for several miles.
Anyway, that was part of my afternoon.
