Yet another newbie

Hi All, I have had a signum 2.2direct elegance for 1 month now, the car is 1 yr old had 7000 miles on it and only cost £9700 from a main dealer, I really like the car except for the hideous kitchen worktop marble effect trim on the dash and doors (vauxhall call it charcoal!!). I have already bought a irmscher grille for it as I wasnt a big fan of the chrome 'v'. With regards to the dash and door trim I was thinking of trying to cover it with a carbon effect film as I cant get the trims off the doors without removing the door cards, which I dont want to do. Any ideas??

The door cards are relatively easy to remove mate. The stick on film can look tacky and peel off in the heat sometimes.

In the long run I think it would be worth the effort to replace them. Then you can sell your Charcoal ones on here.

As for the trims, I understand what you mean!! I got the tortoiseshell ones in my Elite - which seemed to be the least hideous of the three!!

I can't recall if the trims came off the door cards, or if they are an integral part of the card. I'll have to have a look at mine. If your worrried about taking the door cards themselves off, it's really very easy - nothing to worry about. Obviously the dash ones come off but not much use changing those if you can't get the door ones off!!

I'd be wary of using the sticky on stuff - as Alex said it can come off in the heat and look naff.

i suppose i am lucky in one respect, i have the 2.2Dti Design Signum, it has titanium silver dash and door trim , and look quite nice, it was one of the things that pulled me away from the ' higher ' spec cars, along wiht the all black look i have with tints and black saphire paint, the charcoal Le Mans sports interior was also the thing that grabed me over the other specs ( and the 40mm lowering )

sounds like you got a nice car there for the money ( apart from some trim )
