Default 1.9 CDTi (150) air box mod... worth doing?

Read this a few times in sigi's and specs etc! Whats the advantage? Is it worth doing? Whats involved? Is it like the 3 pipe mod on the vec B?

    Cheers for any imfo!

    In a word.....YES!!

If you take the top off the air box ant take the filter out you will see a detachable ''flap'' in the bottom of it. Pull this out and bob's your uncle.

Doing this greatly reduces the flat spot low in the rev range, and it just seems to pull better.

well i have a 150 cdti too and i cant believe it is that simple?
is it a part which should be simply taken out?
    can it have any consequences?

ive done it on the 1.9 120 and have noticed a HUGE difference to the driveability!!

the power is smoother, picks up better and makes the car ALOT more driveable!!

well worth doing, you got nowt to loose as said it dos feel a lot better bottom end
give it a go you know you wonna go on go on go on.......Now pick your keys up turn around and walk out the front door to your car, plip your key fob, open drivers door reach down to drivers foot well pull bonnet release, walk to front of your car lift bonnet undo airbox lid, remove air filter, look inside the airbox see offending item, give it a quick tug...plastic bit not what you was thinking you can save that when you get back from test drive after the mod or better still get the wife to do it lolreplace air filter, and lid close bonnet back to drivers door open drivers door get in insert your key into ignition turn key till you hear engine turn over, put into first or if auto select "A" and away you go with that cheshire cat grin on your face

    cheers mark
