What stereo to get?

Good Evening All,

I have a pre facelift vectra c and looking to buy a new stereo.

I know there are many availble, but i am specifically requiring a headunit with a blue display. Or the option to select blue.

And it also must work with the center display and half canbus steering controls.

Must also be a single din stereo. and have pre outs. I only really use it for mp3's

Just wondered what everyone else is using on here.

I have had a look at many websites. But i also see people having problems with some stereos and the display and steering wheel controls not working.

Guess i'm asking what stereos people actually use. and have both things working correctly in a pre face lift.

I've got an old Alpine CDM-9803r in my pre-facelift using Autoleads wiring and steering remote adaptors and they all work fine, just the date disappears when the stereo comes on.

I really would like a stereo that will use stereo controls and still display on the centre screen. Not sure how possible this is.

I am guessing there is a wire like the astra that if u cut time and date will stay there all the time. But if possible i want it to continue showing radio station or track playing

not sure thats possible to keep the radio text on as its picked up on the new stereo. Be interesting to find out if you can tho!

Steering controls just require a adapter lead to get them working insync with new stereo, about £20

I do understand what your saying, maybe not so much display the radio as it would standard. But to display something. Maybe just continue to display date and time.

Will the adapter not have to connect to the centre display to allow stalk controls to change time and date and to continue using the trip computer settings

Is the vectra the same as the astra, where u can cut the grey cable, which in turn leaves the radio on all the time.

Can you still use the stalks to adjust time and other settings?
