Question Do i OR Dont i?

    Question time ...

with the 45F/40R PI springs (obv them measurements are for lowering standard suspension setups) on a 56 reg 1.9cdti (150) SXI suspension setup....
Do i OR dont i need to get shortened shocks??

i know lowering it 30mm is usually fine for standard shocks etc. which with this kit... if the sxi is 15mm lower, with these springs its going to go down 30F/25R... is that fine for the shocks? are you able to get away without changing the shocks as the SXI setup has shorter shocks than the lower spec models?

    Cheers for your help
    Dave.

You might need shorter shocks with those springs even though your SRi runs lower shocks anyway( im sure l'll be corrected if im wrong ) and as to wheel alignment MOST definately get it done after you lowered it as it will wear the tyres out HTH.You want to have the 4 wheel alignment done though.

Mine is an SRI and lowered on 45/40 pi springs with standard shocks, work a treat. I haven't bothered with the camber as I am waiting for my tyres to wear out! I will then and I would if I were you!

about four months, no uneven wear yet but i don't drive hard! Get it done, harsher ride but the looks more than make up for it, £110 transforms the looks IMHO!

    Robbie,

I'll swap my springs for your exhaust!!!! LOL

Surprising that people are running standard dampers on lowered springs. The dampers are the weakest part of the Vectra's suspension. My back ones are starting to feel a little wobbly after 20k...

I've lowered every Vauxhall I've had, and either replaced the dampers immediately, or had to replace them a few months later due to saggy handling.

The SRi I think is low enough, so I'll probably upgrade the dampers before the winter, probably Koni FSD or Bilstein B6.
