    Default Internet Explorer 6

Is there any way I can get internet explorer 6? I have Windows XP on my laptop but it has IE 7 installed. I have tried downloading 6 but it refuses to install as it detects a newer version.

Really need IE6 as the program I want to run will only work correctly on 6.

Been tearing my hair out with this today!!

    Cheers,

    Paul.

In Add/Remove programs you may find the option to uninstall Internet Explorer 7

This will or should revert back to IE6

I'm eagerly awaiting an answer to this too.

    Thank you, please.

Or use System Restore if it's running.

Not from what I've read/heard. Once you install IE7 it won't let you go back to IE6 - not by uninstall anyway. It 'may' work through System Restore as mentioned.

I think the only foolproof way is a reinstall of XP!

I hated IE7 when I saw it - which is why I never upgraded to it and stayed with IE6. I use Firefox as my main browser and IE6 only if I have to i.e. if a site hasn't been written properly to work on non IE browsers.

Paul - if I'm second guessing you, you can use Netscape Navigator 7.1 for what you may be wanting IE6 for?
