Default when changing to the alternative size 17" tyres...

....is it acceptable to have the wider ones on the front and standard on the back?
mine will need a pair of fronts in a month or 2, and it's right what people say, the 225/45/17's are cheaper than the 215/50/17s. how wrong would it be to have a pair of 225s on the front, and a pair of 215s on the back? would it still drive ok? be legal? look silly? i would put 225s on the back when the current ones wore out of course, so it would only be a temp. thing.

not too sure, i dont see why not, when i changed mine when i had the 17's on i barely noticed the difference in them tbh apart from the price of them, was a little bit more bumpy too and now its even worse with the snow flakes on haha

yes, please Paul, if you bump into him. i reckon he'll say it's legal etc, but he doesn't recommend it, and to buy 4 tyres in one hit and not be a tight git.

right ive spoke to him and what he said is to put the 225/45's on the back of the car until you get the other 2 as this will balance the car out better, hope this helps you Mark

I'm running 225-45's on the front (Bridgestones), 215-50's on the back (NCT5s). No problems I can identify, apart from the NCT5s not wearing quick enough on the back so I can get rid of the ******s.
