    Default Gsi 3.2 help

went to view a 53 plate gsi today and the dealer wants £2800 but i have a few questions,
1.should it be breathing out off dip stick hole when dip stick removed while engine running
2.is it worth £2800 it has 112000 miles with service up to 70000 and the body work has a few scrapes and think it needs antiroll bar bushes,m.o.t till august tax till april
3.is there anything to look out for when looking for a gsi cheers in advance all

Think the dipstick issue is normal as long as it's not spewing.
I'd start at £2000 , then no higher than £2400
Avoid the automatic gearboxes as they are prone to fubar
    Realistic mpg 18

Not too sure on that one , they do have some bad electrical gremlins so be careful , mine was an auto so can't comment on tc as I didn't have that option.

Tax was £205 last year. If it's blowing smoke and electrics looking dodgy avoid it like the plague! No service history after 70k? Should have timing belt at 80k but really 40k to be safe- has it had 1 at 80k? If so you need to change it again- £400ish. MPG- at 70 on a run approx 37ish around town 23ish hammering it 7mpg!

Be very careful with a beast like that or it could bite your wallet very hard!

My advice would be to leave it well alone. It'll need a cambelt change immediately, and that's a biggish job on the 3.2 and it has to be done with the use of a the cam-locking kit (unlike other engines, it's impossible to do it without it) and this narrows your choice of people/garages that will do it. Secondly, it's missed several oil changes, which in itself is an issue, but on the 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 GM V6's it's worse because it'll guarantee that the oil breathers will be blocked by now, so they need cleaning (not a 5 minute job) and the blocked breathers either will shortly, or already have, blown the cam cover gasket(s).
