    Default Good fuel related news! Well, for me anyway!

    Just Had some good fuel related news (for once!)

    I only have one Tesco station that does T99 without going too far outta way normal way.
    They have just been audited and turns out the pumps have not been delivering the right amount of fuel for the money, they have been under delivering!
    As they canít know when the problem started, they are having to refund the difference from the last audit which was Jan 2007!!

    Been and had a chat at the info desk they had set up today. They have written to every one who uses a clubcard, but, stupidly, I donít have one. So I have to produce bank statements back to Jan 07 showing transactions at the station in question.

    They wouldnít tell me how much the pumps had been over charging by, but they did tell me that they are refunding DOUBLE the amount over charged!
    Now, I know from my trip computer that Iíve burnt 675 gallons in the last 12 months (Not 100% accurate I know, but gives me a good idea.) Iíve only had the VXR for 16 months so I would give a rough figure of 1000 gallons in the last 2 years.

    4.54 litres per gallon = 4540 litres.
    2p per litre = £90.80
    Doubled = £181.60!!!
    Brilliant! Hereís to hoping it was more like 10p per litre!

    Its probably not much, only Ĺ p I bet, but still money back 

    Don't forget when fuel went through the roof.You should get more for that period of time.

    Just fyi, the tolerance for lfmi (petrol pumps) on installation is +/- 1/2% and is +/-1% in service. With double the allowance on the minimum delivery of 2 litres, or 5 for new high speed pumps.

    I can only assume the deliveries have found to be even outside these limits, as anything inside is legally acceptable and they wouldn't be going to this trouble - preempting lots of court cases? With double the error you must be looking at 2% back at least - nice result for you.

    Now we have to go and drop in unannounced on all those forecourts in our county! Thats March taken care of...
