    Default Radio reception part 2

    Help please!!!!!!!!!!!

i bought the vectra c in sept and i had poor radio reception and never bothered sorting it after putting a post and people replying about the aerial base i went and bought a base last week i fitted it last night and still the same problem, the radio searches and searches when it finally finds a channel its really crackly i have had the headunit out and checked the plugs on the rear and there all plugged in, i do know the previous owner had a aftermarket headunit fitted and im concerned this may be something to do with my problem??

I maybe wrong but isn't the aerial antenna amplified on vectra c's as i had a problem on mine witch was solved by removing my nice and shiny small bee sting Ariel and using a proper vectra c Ariel

begs to ask the question why the original unit was replaced by an aftermarket head unit?

theres a possibility that the antenna input on the head unit has a poor connection and may have been broken off of its printed circuit board
or is just making a very poor connection
