Hi hi hi
hope you are well,
well im going to have a moan.....
Was headed over to Edinburgh last night to meet............ a friend.
Two lanes merge into one due to a traffic island and im happily chuntering along in the lane without an island.
All of a sudden, "WHACK".
Some lad in a mazda comes flying up the right hand side and spots the island in his lane and swerves left, into me!
His front wing right into my rear drivers side wing, kinked and badly scraped and he's proper knarled up my alloy. OAFT
no happy, anyway, claims im at fault, so kindly frog march him up to the where it happend and explain the basics regarding road signs and directional arrows on the road!!!!!
Anyway, calls ma insurance this morning, and good thing i did.
My old company was bought out by Swinton in 2007, so i assumed that all details simply went over from prev policy.................
1. They had no record of my SP30 that was on old policy (which they have admitted is on there after checkin old docs)
2. Im not insured to drive to and from my place of work
social domestic and pleasure only (but i love work, it is a pleasure)
3. Its going to be 50/50 as no witnesses and nothing to say i didnt, undertake him and cut infront?????
4. my excess that used to be £150 is £600 with new company!
Not happy, spent an hour on the phone to my insurance who argued with me that i should check my paperwork, which is fair enough, but surely, if everything was correct on the old policy, they should have transferred it as it was!
I then decided to do some running about myself after being advised to expect the claim to take 6 - 8weeks. Called his insurance, he has taken liability.
so no excess for me (thank f*k)
and my car goes in next week to get repaired.
Kinda glad it happened tho as its highlighted all these "mistakes" that have occured from a new company taking over my policy?
anyway rant over, cake,.......... anyone?
