Default how to clean marks after debadging

well, my car actually debadged itself...
i was in a automatic car wash and when i came out the "vectra" letters were gone..
that is ok with me coz i wanted to do that anyway so 1 job less for me

my question is how to remove what is left around the letters, it still says vectra on chrome strip

and please dont say any liquid that is made and sold in the UK because it is a few thousand miles too far

maybe something universal, alcohol, gasoline or something?

You can use lighter fluid - that will remove the gunk but not the paint. You'll then just need to give the are a bit of a polish and buff up after to get rid of the dullness.

I used a flat edge plastic ruler to get the rear badge off whilst polishing. As I couldnt be ar*ed going back into the house to get warm water and ruining my already polished car I simply polished it out with SRP

I would bare this in mind next time you go to an auto carwash. Not only are your letters spinning around others maybe too!
Imagine the damage to the paint work

Keep a look out for a car with ACTCEV somewhere on the bodywork. Could be he picked up your letters. ..
