Default e bay problem, entirely my own fault....

last week sold a couple of items on e bay. some motorcycle footrest assemblies. a left hand side and a right hand side. but what does bozo do? put the worng lables on the packages. buyer 1 e mailed last night, all arsey and stroppy, it's not the part he was expecting, his bike is off the road, what am i going to do about it etc etc. i replied immediately, very apologetically explained what happened, told him i will offer a full refund if he likes, said i could ask the other guy if he'll forward it on, and vice versa. not heard back yet, but i've pre-empted things with buyer 2 by e mailing him and telling him he's about to recieve the wrong part and offer the refund and the option to get his part eventually if he's bothered. these were sold for £4, and £4.20 respectively, so we're not talking high value items here.
am i playing it the right way? what are my options in getting the parts to the right blokes? or should i just issue full refund and walk away? let them dump the bits. i may incure neutral/neg because of this, but it's noboies fault apart from mine, but please advise me the best way to avoid this.

i'm not bothered - i am fully prepared to refund them both fully, it was my fault. buyer 1's part went to buyer 2, and vice versa. i will refund them if they want, and will get the right parts to them, but not sure how to play it best to keep 'em happy.

Just ask them to send them on and refund the postage, as long as you are trying to do the right thing, MISTAKES ARE EASILY MADE!

I wouldn't worry, life is too short and you're trying to sort it out. We're not talking loads of money here but sure they are adult enough to put a different address on a box!

Not so easy for them to leave negative feedback as it used to be .
Buyer will have to go through e bay and they will contact you for an explanation .

Oh tell me about it, had one recently who thought the royal mail had invested in a teleporter for him!!! LOL Item bought late Thursday, posted Friday first thing, SNOW ALL WEEKEND, when it didn't turn up Monday morning he opened a paypal dispute! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Thing is, it's a simple mistake and easy to sort I would think, just ask if they will post the items on? If not you have tried all you can! It depends how badly they want the bits!!

    Good luck with it,

    Robbie
