    Default Excel Help Please

    Morning

I am making up a simple spreadsheet that contains a couple of large paragraphs of text.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to type in Excel that when you get to the page break it automatically shows the text on the next line?

    Cheers

    JKA

Say I start typing in A1, when I finsih the text is split over the first page and the page to the right also. What I am looking for Excel to do is to allow me to type the paragraph in this cell but automatically show the text on a new line when it reaches the page break.

I'm sure I did something similar a couple of years ago but can't recall how. I'm sure I didn't have to insert a word document but if it comes to it that's what I'll do.

Possible option - you can select all the cell's for a single page and right-click, select Format Cells, click on the tab Alignment, select Merge cells and Wrap Text.

Now whenever you type in that *single* cell, all the text will be placed into that *single* cell and if the text is longer that the cell, it will wrap-around under the cell...

Select the cell, go to format , cells, in Alignment tab there is an option called 'Wrap text' Select that option, however wide you cell is it will wrap the text ie put in the same cell on multiple lines. However if you want it over the page then select the amount of cells across and click merge cells (in the alignment tab) in addition to the wrap text, or centre across selection which is easier but centre the text across all the cells (don't forget the wrap text option also)

Just what they said, you can also `shrink text` to make it fit, though this is sometimes a bit untidy as you get different font sizes ...
