    Default Motorpoint

Bought a 2.2i petrol auto estate from Motorpoint nearly a month ago, cant fault the car, Direct Elite, leather and all the toys I could wish for,

    HOWEVER

    1 set of keys

    No log book

    No navi disc supplied

What am I entitled to, and what should I push for, the car had 9k on the clock and we part exed when the car was up at 8k, right now cars on a same 57 plate are up at a grand more with another 4k on the clock, I think we did well, as I said earlier, what should I insist on/be entitled to??

    Cheers fellas

I'd want everything you've listed, most important I'd want the log book. Personally I wouldn't have accepted the car without the log book.

They might only have one set of keys from the previous owner and the nav disk they've probably had away themselves to flog on Flea Bay.

Fight this one to the bitter end and don't take no ****.

If you've already bought it, then sure ... try and get them to address the three items. However, be realistic about the outcome (20% chance, maybe?).

Best not to stress too much over it now (as you say, you did get a good deal at the end of the day).

    By the way...

    - spare key from ebay about £30-£40 plus programming when you need it
    - you'll get a log book soon enough from the DVLA
    - satnav disc from ebay £10-£30 (2005-2007)

Ive got the V5, there isnt a legal problem, just would have liked the shiney folder with all the original docs inside

Ive got everything I need on PDF would have been nice on paper

MOD EDIT: DO NOT DISCUSS PIRATED SOFTWARE- A BAN MAY RESULT IF IT RE-0CCURS.

In retrospect, Im worrying over the keys, how worried should I be??

Motorpoint get their vehicles from a variety of sources, this one was originally sent to Hertz, so I know its ex rental but I really dont care, the ebay comment, I dont think so, the buying power of Hertz they get a 25k vehicle for 5k sell it for 6k 6 months later, the likes of Motorpoint sell it for 8k, motorpoint have made another 2k everybodys a winner. I dont have a problem with that, just curious what I am legally entitled to

The car has satnav but without the satnav disc this in useless

The car should have been supplied with 2 sets of keys and service keys?? Am I correct, or is this a toyota thing

Any amunition you can supply I will forward to necessary people, cheers, Jason

The v5 should come from the dvla as motorpoint should have informed them that they have sold the car to you. If not a quick phone call to the dvla can sort it. Motorpoint must have had the v5 or at least the new keeper supliment otherwise they would not have been able to tax it for you

you shouldnt have bought without the log book, keys fair enough and navi disk but basically dont think you have a leg to stand on, worth a try but dont think you stand a chance. im sure there are easy ways to reprogram keys known to probably duncan the admin here - my fiesta i glued the imobiliser chip to the drive barrel hahaha but it worked - and who`s going to nick a fiesta!!!

...not very, if like my fiesta there was a way to reset it with the key you have so no others - other than ones you add will work....but think about it, how many people sell cars pre-chipped keyes and find a set or had a set cut? and how many were nicked ?
