Default what fuel do you put in your pride and joy

    hi guys and gals !

just wondering what fuel most of the users put in their pride and joy?
do you risk the extra 5pence off per litre and put supermarket fuel in your car and if you do ... do you notice a difference?

so ladies & gentlemen place your answers now and if you have any evidence to back it up ....i.e. better m.p.g. replaced oxygen sensors from poor fuel, or worse!! then all the better

V Power and BP Ultimate for the same reasons as last time. (Poll would has one option so went for Shell)

My neighbour works for Hoya who have the Shell contract out of Stanlow. I asked him a while back about who supplied who as he's worked for the Supermarket suppliers in the past too. The original question on here was did V power have a Shelf life? Found the reply I posted on here.

" Standard fuel (he pointed out) can be six weeks old or older by the time it's been refined abroad, shipped to the U.K., stored in a depot somewhere and then delivered to the Supermarkets.

V Power shelf life he was a bit stumped by. He's not heard of this before but he's not one to comment until he knows the facts so he said he'd go and check this out. He delivers V Power every day so he should be able to get some info.

I also remembered to ask him about which fuel the Supermarkets receive.

Asda, Morrisons and Tescos all buy fuel refined abroad. Off the tanker and into storage. It all meets the standard but does not have additives of say Shell fuel refined in the UK.

Sainsburys fuel is refined over here and BP have the contract at present to supply them. Again it does not have the same additives as branded fuel.

Tesco Espress is refined in the UK. Esso have the contract to supply the fuel. Again with non of the additives.

Told me a load more but I was starting to nod off at this point"

I'll ask him about Morrisons next time I see him.

For what it's worth he only ever uses branded fuel in his own car. He has issues with how contamination is dealt with elsewhere

The missus is still using the cheapest she can find. So far she's quids in.
