Correct, however can you not just do the autolights mod found on this forum? i am also considering doing it.

Are you sure? Isnt it just a case of tech2 to enable it when the switch is fitted? IIRC ot works off the rain sensor/light sensor thingy, its the little dot that is the light sensor

auto lighting was only an option on full canbus models,never an option on half canbus.
