Default Have u told your insurance company about your mods?

hi, im just wondering if you all have declared your mods to your insurance company? as ive just bought some snowflakes and ive rang my insurers this morning and they said if i put some wheels on my car i told them value of £600 then my excess will double to £500 and there will be an additional premium of £119.70 on top of the £350 i already paid when i renewed it the end of jan and i paid it all off in one go, im not sure what to do now?? do i leave the wheels on or take em off or do i pay the extra? i cant believe my excess will double

It seems to cost a lot of money to look good these days, not sure I want to look that good? .

I've declared all the mods on my car, I stated that they are ALL GENUINE VAUXHALL parts and were/are a factory fit option. They never asked me about the value of them, just if they were performance enhancing in anyway. I wouldnt risk fitting them and then invalidating your insurance in some way. I guess the wheels do add that little more desire to steal them... I know I'm feeling it! LOL.

Declared all of mine. First question I was asked after a crash last year when I contacted the insurer. "Has the car been modified in anyway?"

try Adrian Flux they tend to only increase the premium if the mod increases the power/performance of your car. Admiral tried to hump me £50 just for tinting my windows. With AF it didn't cost me a penny. Only thing that increased my premium was tuning box.

I've declared all of mine,as long as it doesn't affect the performance my insurance company (direct line) said it wouldn't affect my premium.......
