    confused Can someone tell me....MGB

    on the MGB's. GT's

I have seen some with a chrome bumper and some with rubber black bumpers.

What was the cross over with the 2? I.e. Chrome was earlier? or was it later?
What age do they cars have to be to have the original bumpers on?

    Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu!
    Ian.

Chrome was first. Off the top of my head think it was around 1976. The rubber bumper came about because of US crash regs (for pedestrians)

The chrome bumpers were replaced in 1974 with rubber bumbers to meet U.S impact regulations.

    Correct.

MG said it brought them up to date with modern styling, in reality they looked pants compared to the chrome.

Most people seem to convert the rubber bumper back to the chrome bumpers when restoring though, for the reason they look better. Chrome bumpers and a v8 is what you want
