    I would be very suprised if it was as Vauxhall sales are ok.
    Halewood I would say as you dont see many new baby Jags and Freelanders around compared to Astra's

    Hopefully not! I'd be surprised too as aren't Vx one of the few makers who are actually profitable? - and the Astra is a hugely successful car so it wouldn't make sense.

    Although in this climate, and with GM the way they are, who knows?!

    One senior car industry source named Ellesmere Port as the plant identified by Woodley, but stressed it was unlikely it would close.

    “This is being hyped up,” he said. “We just don’t believe the government will allow the plant to close.”


    Sounds like it's still up in the air, although I'd be suprised if the 'protectionist' comment would hold any water. The government won't 'bail out' a car manufacturer.
