    Default Heated Seats Wiring

OK Guys, so far I've installed the heated seats, or at least the bits that count, switchs, pads and seat wiring loom.

So far so good. Only trouble is, they don't work!

I've stripped some of the car down to take a look at the wiring and it appears that the switches are wired up all the way to the rear fuse box, but there is nothing coming back from the fuse box to connect to the seats. The only wires running to the seats are for the airbag and pre-tensioners.

Does my car have the crapest loom available or what? I've already had to change the roof loom just for the rear map lights!

Anybody got any experience of Vectra electrics to confirm what I think I need to do, i.e. find where the wires should run from the rear fusebox and run them to the seats? I'm not an expert on electrical stuff, so I feel a bit out of my depth here now!

Anyway, thanks to Paul (Leeds Vectra) for help in getting me this far!

Can anyone save the day with some simple advice on what exactly I'm missing to put the final piece of the puzzle in? One of you experts out there must have had a play with the wiring at some point?

    Thanks!

Been to dealer to get their opinion....ouch they reckon on £370 for a new body harness. Seems nuts when half of the wires are already there..I may be tempted to get handy with a soldering iron - only I know jack **** about soldering!! LOL!

Cheers, I've got the wiring diagrams on TIS - all I need is the confidence and leccy skills to go ahead and play with it!!

Here's the part number for the roof harness m8: 13116730

Good luck with that one, you'll need to remove the headlining entirely, the C-pillar trim on the passenger side and the boot trim around the rear fuse box.
Other than that, it's a piece of cake!

Default Oh why did I see this?????

This is a mod' which I am going to have to do as well now....

Just when I though I'd finished, lol

If anyone is thinking about rear headrest screens, I got a couple from eBay which are self contained DVD / Games machines which are a complete swap over and the dark grey / black fit the leather interior perfectly. The wiring are all hidden within the centre console with the input and output from each one connected together so that our boys can either watch different or each others screen, plus, play multiplayer games and look at their own screen. Only cost £140 for the pair from Hong Kong via eBay and recommended them. If anyone wants a pic I'll post a couple on here.

    Get the pics up buddy!!!

I've read a million times that heated seats should not need tech2, just plug and play... how come rorycarz needed programming in, is it year dependant or something?

Here you go, photos of the replacements DVD Headrests from eBay:

They can run independantly as they are both DVD players, connected to a head unit via the Aux In or as I have them, Aux In to Aux Out to each other. Then my two boys can watch each others movie if they wish or play 2 player games while looking at their own screen to save them looking across and me clearing up any travel sick!!

As you can see - good colour match!

Are you on about front or rear heated seats? The wiring for the fronts doesn't go to the rear fuse box.
    For the fronts:
If the switch wiring is there then it should just be the wiring from the footwell plugs to the under seat plug that's needed as alot of the body looms didn't come with it. Theres about 4 wires for each side if memory servers me correctly, I put the body wiring in when the park pilot and electric rear windows were done.
For the rears, yes this will go to the rear fusebox BUT that will only be for the power, there should be 2 relays on the rear of the rear fusebox for the rear electric seats and if these aren't there then they won't work.
The rears would probably need activating via Tech2 as you would need to tell the rear fusebox that they are they.
