    Default Amp Leakage from battery?

    Hi all,

GSI not driven for 6 days and went to run it yesterday to find a flat bettery. Just the relay clicking sound but no turnover.

Jump started it and went for a 10 min run and all OK. Voltmeter across vattery shows 12.44V and when revved up to 14V so i assume the alternator is OK.

Did a quick check with ammeter and there seems to be a 4 amp leakage across the earth terminal.

Pulled a few fuses and the rear brake light fuse showed a drop when removed. Brake lights work fine though.

Is there anything else i can do to trace the leakage? ( Am i even checking it right??)

    Thanks for any advice.

think you need to check the car when its locked up. leave it for a few minutes with the meter connected inline with it so the modules all go to sleep. Could be a matter of tracing through and unplugging modules and retesting to see which one is pulling the current whilst its supposed to be asleep.. I have heard of the REC causing a problem of this on Astra's.

in that case it might be worth a quick check on the condition / tightness of the earth connections on the rear lights aswell
