confused I have lost a gasket!

Well, I removed the EGR valve to give it a clean, and managed to drop the little gasket that fits onto the pipe at the bottom of the EGR valve. That’s the trouble with fat fingers!

I couldn't find it for love nor money, so popped the EGR back on without it.

Now sometimes there is serious turbo lag when accelerating, and sometimes all power dies for literally a second when cruising along, would that have been caused by the valve not being fitted? What issues, if any, would not fitting that gasket cause? I appreciate the gasket is there for a reason, so I will buy another.

I figured as it was exhaust gases then it may affect the turbo somewhat.

    Any thoughts welcome

P.S - I'm gonna search the forum for the part number for a new gasket, but if anyone knows it, or where the thread is, I would appreciate the help.

    Ta muchly.

Not sure about part numbers but not having the gasget would case ither drawing in air or loosing pressure.

Ahh that figures, cheers. So I am right in saying it feeds the turbo?

I am useless with cars now, much prefer fixing websites!

I like your style! I'm guessing a new one will be dirt cheap anyway, and I have quit drinking for Feb so Beer cans are in short supply!
