Remote unlocking

(im unsure if this is in the right thread btw)

Sometimes when i go to unlock my car with the fob, its unresponsive, the first time it happend it thought the battery in the fob was dead.

But when i use the actual key to open the drivers door the alarm goes off, but as soon as i turn the ignition the alarm stops and the remote locking from the fob works as usual!

Im thinking that when i place the key in the ignition it 'resets' the code or whatever in the fob??

Has this happened to anyone else?

Happened to me a couple of times running up to second annual service - the fob battery was replaced as part of that and it's been fine since then. I asked if it was something like the codes getting out of sequence between car and key, but they said it will also happen if the battery drops too low. When the car recognises the right key is being used it resets the sequence, so what you're experiencing seems to be the same thing.
