Dampers: Is it the exchange rate...

... or is there another reason why Bilstein B6 prices have gone up about £50 a corner in the last few weeks? B4's seem to be their usual cheap'n'cheerful £50 each, but the B6 fronts are now nudging £200 and the rears are £120 or so, according to the LMF list. Very similar to B8 prices... Including springs that makes a B6/Eibach combo abt £800 - more than Irmscher, and up in the region of a junior coilover setup.

Still, they have options on other systems... Koni have the FSD range, but these only list under the pre-facelift section (price for a set is only abt £60 more than regular Konis). Anyone tried these on a Facelift C? Would need a set of Eibach Pro's or similar adding to them.

When I ordered my B4's last week I was speaking with Mark @ Courtenay Sport, and they have a press release from Bilstein stating they have increased prices by around 35%, hence why I went for the B4's

That would explain the jump in prices, (maybe LMF are running off older pre-hike B4s) - did Mark say Bilstein had given any reasons?

He didn't say anything about why they have increased their price. It was affective from 1st Feb 2009, but I'm guessing it may be to do with the exchange rate as well, with the £ bring weak against the Euro.

Eibach are also going up as well from what I can gather.

Yeah, I've noticed some places have the set at abt £20 this week - typical luck; I was waiting until summer to sort out the suspension. At this rate I might as well go for coilovers, or something a little more down to earth, like Jamex and to he11 with the dampers!

I was going to wait as well, but ended up biting the bullet as I'm down at Courtenay Sport for a Rolling Road meet on 14th March, so they are going to be fitting them for me as well.
