Default Got the boost gauge fitted but.....

    Following on from this thread.....
    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71518

I got the boost gauge fitted but Im not that happy with it,Firstly the pod that I bought did not fit snug enough on the A pilla so that was a bad start. The next trouble I had was removing the light switch so I could get the cowelling from underneath the steering wheel.

The way I went it to the cabin from the engine bay was on the passenger side, there is a blank gromit so I passed the boost pipe through here and located the sender behind the glove box which I had removed earlier.I then passed the wire from the sender to go to the gauge around back of the radio this was not easy as it is as tight as a ducks ass in water.

The wires I used to power the sender were taken from a spare fuse in the fuse box that is located on side of the dash at the passenger side. The power for the gauge taken from the live wire on the light swictch with a scotch lock.(not ideal as I dont realy like then).I have since seen the advice given on the other thread about using the cig lighter power and may rewire it to there when I get a new mounting pod.

The main reason Im not that impressed is I do not get a vacumm reading and the gauge is slow to react to pressure so Im wondering if the wrong pipe has been used even though Im sure I got the right pipe indicated in spoons pictures.Any ideas on this ??

Without the Help I would not have even attempted this job so thanks

I have just been talking to a very nice man who has put me onto the pipe that I need to tap into to be able to get both boost and a vacum reading.

This pipe is located behind the engine just underneath the ecu.

Just need a conector to re-join the original pipe that I cut.Hope halfrauds sell they or i will have wait till the weekend.

Sorry m8 but Spoons how to thread on fitting his boost gauge is actually using the wrong pipes to tie into (he has since moved it) the proper tie in pipes are located at the back of the engine behind the ECU unit.

Here is the how to thread (appologies to ADMIN as this is from another Vec site)
