    Default Just what i needed...

On the way home from work last night i heard something hit the rear pass window on the drivers side, had a look around and the window had totally shattered!
The rest of the way home it was just falling apart, so left me with a big hole in the middle of the glass

Luckly getting it done through my insurance, they were very helpful and got it sorterd two hours later although it did cost me £60 excess.

The guys at Autoglass said they found a stone on the seat, it must have been doing some! Im thinking it got thrown up by a vehicle going the other way.

Does anyone know how much it would have cost if i never went through the insurance?

It's a pain in the rear but wants reporting m8. That could have you or someone in the back with a visit to hospital. Glad you're ok. Catapult?

If it happened in a built up area I would strongly suspect kids. At least the paintwork is OK that would have affected your no claims discount. Bet you got a bit of a shock.

A stone thrown up by another vehicle is unlikely to do that kind damage,as it would be hitting the glass at an angle ,and it would tend to glance off the glass as opposed to directly hitting it square on if you know what i mean,?where you in a built up area any kids around at the time,if it was kids it needs reporting to cops as it goes without saying that serrious damage can result, there was an ambulance driver struck a few years back on the a52 near Derby ended up loosing an eye.

I know it could have been much worse if it had hit the driver window

I really doubt it could have been kids - it happened at the bottom of the a63, just going over a flyover.

Your right about the vehicle thing, but i cant think of anything else that could have caused it, it is in a built up area - but the nearest buildings were at least 50m away and i was still about 10m high going down.
