Default Daftest thing you've done when working on your car

Mine would be years ago when I dedided to change a starter motor. Drove the car on the ramps, got underneath, started to undo the bolts for the wiring to the starter. Spanner bridged the gap between 2 of the connections and welded itself in place. Well i'd left the car in gear and battery connected. Car then tried to drive off the ramps and onto me. Luckily it just drove off the ramps and got stuck before plowing into the house.

Always disconnect the battery when doing similar jobs now!

lol. I was doing an exhaust mod to a mondeo. I had the car on ramp and decided to saw the old back box off, i had to take the box off the hanger to cut the last bit.... then BANG. as it came off, it fell a couple feet and smacked me on my nose. It hurt so much i was running around kicking the car and i had nice line accross my face for a few week

Dropped a valve into the cylinder when changing a valve stem oil seal on my XR3. Didn't bring the pistons TDC in cylinders 2 & 3 after doing cylinders 1 & 4 beforehand !!!
