Default what not to do when working on your car

today i decided to remove my washer bottle as the filter had blocked again, this time a load of sh*t came out,so i took the bottle in the house to flush it properly,a lot of crap came out but a lot stayed on the inner bottle walls,so ahh i have jml steam cleaner that does for some reason fires a spay of very hot water for a short period, used the steamer and it got a lot of the crap off the interior but by this time the water had stopped squirting,so i release the pressure valve and also squeeze the trigger to release the steam pressure, pressure disapears so i release the cap withmy left hand (i had to use my right hand to hold the safety catch off) and next thing i know the cap is in the middle of the floor and the palm of my hand is now very red.the steam pressure was very high and i have scalded my hand,my index finger cought the brunt of the steam, and i still have to get my car back together so i can go to the walk in centre to get it seen to,and my hand is killing me,but i mangaged to get my car back together and now i have my hand in a bandage so no work on the car this weekend ,so in the future i will not be releasing the cap of the steam cleaner till it has cooled down as it f***ing hurts otherwise

Steam is a killer. As a chef I'd say there far worse than a naked flame or hot metal burn. Just keep it moisturised mate. It will start to dry and the skin will tighten and thats when it stings.

Not good. Did a similar thing at a garage with the high pressure washer. Stuck me finger into the jet of water. Made a nice little hole straight through my finger. Now that hurt!
