Default going to buy a Veccy

    Hiya,

Ok just got the cash for a new motor and going to buy my first veccy. Was wonder if this was a good deal:

2006 Facelift Vectra SRi 1.9 CDTi [150] Sapphire Black
41k miles, full Vauxhall Service History
Serviced on 31/1/09, 12 months tax

    £5700

It says it comes with balance of Vx warranty. Are these transferable if car is sold and how long is a Vx warranty? 3 years?

Let me know what you think.

confused, you think that's too much for that car? Apparently it's got 3 months Vx warranty left.

I think it's about the right money but bargin away all you can try and get some extra warranty with it I would pay the full price if they give a years warranty.
There's a thread running on here at the moment about the 120 Vrs 150 have a read.
Don't rush into buying the car there are loads coming up in the next few weeks 1st March !!!

Thats not a bad price to be honest if it's a good car. A friend of mine has just sold his March 2006 Vectra SRi Nav 1.9 CDTi 150, with 53000 miles for £5400.

There is a mentallity going around that you should be able to buy a 3 year old Vectra for about £3000, this is not the case.

Knoxvillain, if it is a good car, and you happy with the price, then buy it. It's not the cheapest, but it is for sure not the most expensive.

Naturally I don't intend on paying the advertise price and would be looking to lower it a bit. Only thing is all the mentions on this site about EGR/Inlet manifold/swirl/dmf problems is putting me off the 150 a bit. :s

According to the seller, the swirl flaps were refurbed in 05 and the newer ones don't have the problems. The EGR was replaced last march under warranty and apparently some recall about the handbrake was done too.

If you want to check the recalls side of things, get the reg number and call a vauxhall dealer and ask if it has any recalls outstanding. The guy on the parts desk at my local dealer did this for me. It will tell you what work has been completed on it and any work left outstanding.
