confused Alarm Sounding every 5 minutes

    Hi,

I just took delivery of a 08 plate vectra estate Life. Since I have gotten home the Alarm keps sounding every 5 minutes.

I can't seem to get it to stop. I press the fob to lock the car, regardless if I press the locking button once or twice after 5 minutes the alarm is sounding. The indicators do not flash but the alarm is sounding. I can then press the button to open it and again to re-lock it but after 5 minutes again the alarm is going.

What am I going to do, i can't leave it sounding all the time at night right outside the house.

Has any body heard of this or have any ideas of what I can do.

    Everything is factory standard.

    Thanks,

    Mark L

Slam all the doors shut then lock it including the boot, it's happened to me.

Try just using the key to lock it instead of using the fob?

I have tried both of these and nothing seems to work.

When I tried to lock it just using the key it will only lock the drivers door it won't lock any other door.

Do you know if there is anyway to stop the alram from arming at all?

Check round the boot glass. There is a sensor wire that gets broken in the estate and triggers the alarm, its actually quite a common issue. HTH

Try taking out fuse 23 in the rear boot fuse box (on left hand side of boot as you open it) this covers the sensor ?

that's strange.... and VX put the alarm in the boot so it wouldn't annoy anyone when it goes wrong.....

have you tried that button on the dash that you apparently press when you leave pets/children/grandparents in the car....? (has anyone ever ued that?!)
