Default BSR or 250bhp Saab Aero HOT

You hay have seen my other thead regarding prices of saab's. I'm now seriously considering the Saab, my only real decision is its ~£500 to take my Signum to Stage 1 and ~ £1500 to trade up to the Saab. It only the performance that i really want and wasn't too bothered about the rest of the saab. The interior was ok, but i prefer my design spec signums. I've been looking at the performance figures on BSR website and have come to the following approx:

    km/h gear original stage1 Aero
    80-120 3 5.9s 4.7s 4.5s
    80-140 4 12.2s 9.4s 9.7s
    100-150 4 11.3s 8.4s 7.6s

These are approx figures taken from Vectra, but as a general comparison they should serve the purpose. The stage 1 and saab figures aren't that different, bar the 100-150km.

Leave it a few months, the arse will fall out of Saab prices considering the latest developments.

So BSR S1 in the short term before getting some more power in the future...

BSR stage 1 on my old Aero 9-3 (210bhp standard) took it up to 266bhp on the rollers

Did some times using GPS and it was frightening. 6.01 secs 0-60 and the in gear times were really quick. There is a thread on here from a couple of years ago with them all on somewhere

The Saab's are a quick car for the money. I know I could take the Aero to 275 bhp with BSR stage 1.
I'm still un-decided as to what to do.
I know its sad but i really wanted sat nav in my next car, something i can live without it just would have been a nice toy.

Saab has a much bigger potential for power. That would swing it for me.
Just not too keen on interior.

    It was a 9-5 i'm looking at.
I've had a look at the potential of the engines and there good for well over 300bhp!
The Signum and the Saab are sooo different, its a tough decision to make. HELP

I thought the HOT Aero was the 9-5 with the 2.3 turbocharged engine? Now that is one seriously quick car that reputedly 'eats' front tyres.

BSR Stage 1 on the Vectra 2.0T brings it into line with the standard Saab 9-3 2.0T (207bhp) - before Tony (Caterman) got his remapped!

Arguably Stage 3 will take the 2.0T somewhere near the remapped Saab 9-3 that Tony had, and in the same ballpark as the 2.3 'HOT' Aero.

The saab was quick, after test driving the VXR the 9-5 wasn't far off IMO! After a remap on the saab a would shudder to think. The 9-5 felt a big car even compared to the Signum I have currently.
