Default AC working only on one side

My 03 Vectra C is now blowing cool only on the right (driver's) side. When set to Auto and blowing out of the front vents, it blows coldest out of hte rightmost vent, somewhat cool on centre right vent and warm on the other 2. If I set it manually to blow out the top vents (front edge of dash) -- it blows cool only on the right ft vent and warm out of the left vent.

I pulled the glove box and footwell cover to look at the servos on the left side. I found 3 -- one directed the flow to the top vent and it was working; another directed the flow between the foot vents and the centre vents and was working. the 3rd moved when I turned up the temp to high or turned it down -- so it seemed to be working as well.

My car has the electronic control unit for the aircon.

What else could I look at as a potential source of the problem?

    Thx,
    Byas

Yep must be the mixed air valve servo motor.

Are there 2 such motors -- one controlling hot to cold (that seemed to be the 3rd one I saw/tested) and one controlling left vs. right -- Did not see one which seemed to do this.

Fixed. The system needed to be recharged. The dealer has put in a dye to test for a leak. Had them check after a week and no sign of leak or low pressure (yet). Will go back in a month.

Summer is here, so glad to have the AC working well again.

    Thumbs up all sorted then

so was it purely a regas required?
seems unusual that it was still working on one side?

    good news though

Yes, it was strange that it was still working on one side. I wondered if it was a designed that way if freon was low or just coincidence. Anyway, that was all that was needed/done then and is working. I'm still curious to know where the leak was. Dealer repaired the AC and recharged it less than a year ago.

So something is wrong somewhere. Just hope it is not somewhere buried like in the evaporator. My confidence in the dealer putting everything back together properly (i.e no rattling later) is very low.

It must be getting hot in India now. I was in Goa in April last year and certainly too hot to work, all I could do was sit by the pool and drink beer.

It is getting hot. Although, I cannot complain about Bangalore weather -- In Mar thru mid-May it gets up to 95-100F, but rest of the year is ~85 or less. I call that great (compared to home in Sacramento, CA).
