front brake pads

has anyone done a how 2 on changing front pads. im thinking of doing it my self so any advice would be good pics if anyone has any

Changing the pads is a doddle..Even a VX fitter can do it.. ..

Special tools that are needed are a 7mm allen key..Not all sets have this..

Will do you a how to tonight..It'll be up by 10pm..

Yes it is pretty easy should not take you too long,some copper grease on the back of the pads and where the pads slide would be a good idea, something I always do when I change the pads.

Bet u dont know the part number for the wind back adapter I bought a taskmaster set to find out it didnt have it in.!! Had to get mine seperately but good fed up by then and had garage do my rears for £25 quid.

Oh i had a spongy pedal, thought i'd knackered the master cylinder. Turns out these are double sealed and i didnt flip the seal. Was chatting to VX Mech and said they feel spongy for first 100 miles afterwards..

Must admit that the wind back is in a snappy set..Cost a few bob but fits most all that i come across.. You can cheat and use soft jaw pliers with a nylon insert. the piston isn't stiff at all..but 'proper tool for the job' and all that.

The pedal on the beast was spongy as well. Mine took about a dozen applications to settle down and is now back to normal..

The wind back tool is soo easy to use for fronts, Tried long nose pliers for rears kept winding but didnt go back, need to be pushed back at same time. Got the extra adapter for mine now, an extra £20 on top of the £71 set i bought
