    Default Brake Pad Renewal

    Hi, is this correct that the pistons are windbacks? and need a tool to push them back, if so anyone know what tool it is and the size? thx.

    Yes .......the rears are wind in pistons basically because the pads are used for the handbrake also . Not sure on what size , but when you have fitted the new rear pads dont forget to pull the handbrake up and down a few times to automatically get it readjusted .

    Front pads are just the normal pistons which push in .

    Thx mate, I wanted to see just what to expect, never had wind backs before, so I guess I need to go source the tool now, which from what I hear isn't easy to come by, ta again.

    Yeah, i know what you mean there, I used to buy Challenger ones, Snaps were prolly better, but the Challenger ones came with the life replace warrenty anyway, till somebody half inched em from my shed.

    Its a 21mm tool that is required I've been informed, might make life easier for them that DIY's the car.
